Intruder Alert!!! Spammed in the Rain!

This is something new to me.  I for some reason thought we were immune to this type of stuff.  But, I guess the spammers can get us no matter how hard we fight em.  Hopefully, the powers that be can track this down and do something about it.

I don't know how well you can see the item, but it's the second comment down.

The is a close up of the line in question.

Now, here is the text...or part of it.

I can't wait to contact this guy so I can share in the millions of dollars I will be receiving.  LOL.

He grew up with JFK!

I just love floor duty.  They are always full of surprises.  Today was no exception.  Of course, living in a retirement community can make for some very colorful stories of the "Good Old Days".

There I was, back in my little corner cubicle sending out e-mails, updating my SOI, and checking on the latest homes on the market, when the Receptionist came back to let me know I had an "UP".

"Bob, there's a gentleman out front who would like to talk to someone about information on listing his home".  So, I grab my pad, pen, and clipboard and head out to the conference room where the gentleman is waiting.

We exchange names and pleasantries, and he explains that he and his wife are snowbirds, not quite ready to sell just yet, but would like a contact person for when they come back from up north in the fall.  They may want to sell at that time.  I had already given him my business card, and told him that I'd be happy to be his contact person when the time came.

With that all aside, I asked him where they went during the summer.  He said they had a home in Hyannis port.  I don't know how many Hyannis port there are in the U.S., but there is only one that I know of.  I say, "Oh, I hear it's beautiful there in the summer".  And on the conversation goes. My curiosity is killing me, and I've already done the math in my head.  He mentioned his age (89) earlier, and that would put him in the ballpark.  So I figure, What the heck?

"By any chance, did you know the Kennedy's?", I ask.  His eyes twinkle up, and he says "We pal'd around when we were kids".

You could have knocked me off the chair.  After picking my chin up off the floor, I asked "John "F" Kennedy?".

He smiles and says "Yes, I knew Jack, but I was probably closer friends with Joe, the older brother. We grew up together".  All I could do was sit there in awe, as he talked about a few incidents they all shared. He rattled off the names like they were still youngsters, and how he has such fond memories of those days.

So, the next time you see a senior citizen in his 80's - 90's, don't be surprised at who they might have known growing up.

Just another great reason I love this job.  You just never know who is going to walk in that door and who they may have played baseball with as a kid.

I look forward to hearing from him and his wife in the Fall when they get back from Hyannis port.  I can't wait to hear more stories of his youth.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day!

I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all Mothers a Happy Mother's Day.

My Mom passed away back in 1979 while I was serving in the Army in Korea. I don't get to share this day with her anymore, except in my heart.

I have lasting memories of her, and of the love she gave us all.  No sacrifice was too big, and no kiss on the cheek could be sweeter.

I will remember her this day, as I always have since 79, in my heart, and with a special prayer that she is watching over me and my family.

I love you Mom.
